Camponotus ligniperda are one of the largest European species.

This species can be slow to get started from a single queen and can take a couple of months from egg to worker but once established they are more active and reach large numbers.

Very similar species to Camponotus herculeanus, ligniperda is distinguished by its larger size, brighter color and shinier gaster.

They also are Polymorphic (Minor, Media and Major workers)

These ants are not native to the UK and is therefore illegal to release them into the wild. Please contact AntKit if you no longer wish to keep them and we will arrange for them to be collected from you at no cost.
