Lasius grandis are a very easy beginner species. They are very common in Spain.
They are very similar to Lasius niger, they tend to be a bit more brownish and slightly bigger. Just like lasius niger they tend to lay large batches of eggs.
Try to offer different protein foods to them if you want to see growth.

Humidity should be between 50-70 degrees so if using an acrylic nest you shouldnt let the sponge run dry. but also do not over water the sponge.. Watering should be every 3-4 days.

These ants are not native to the UK and is therefore illegal to release them into the wild. Please contact AntKit if you no longer wish to keep them and we will arrange for them to be collected from you at no cost.
