The first formicarium was made by the founder of AntKit and his daughter out of plaster and wax in a glass jar.

AntKit was formed and released the first commercial CNC cut Ytong nests.

We started making making acrylic nests and temporarily stopped making Ytong products.
We focused on the acrylic series, which have evolved over time we are now on series 3 and every series gets better than the last.
We were first to introduce the use of cellulose sponge in our nests which was quickly adopted across the industry.

In December 2016 we unfortunately had a fire and lost everything. All our files, machines etc. The future of AntKit looked uncertain.
We started from scratch in 2017 with a very basic range and sold through Amazon.
